Spanish Web Sites
For web work, Spanish is the second most common web site language, and the easiest to handle. When the developer and translator work as a team, Spanish sites are a pleasure to create and maintain.
@IS offers 13 dialects of Spanish, with translation teams in North, South and Central Latin America and Spain. Translators of the highest experience are employed for each project, including Certified Public Translators, accredited by the U.S. State Department or ATA, and other professional qualifications.
Translations are more than mere exchange of words, there is a processes of cultural adaptation and cultural applicability built into each project.
Clients, developers and translation managers work together to plan the localization process to assure that all goes smoothly and easily, with a final rounds of Quality Control and testing on as many browsers as desired.
@IS can insert text directly into a web page, with the developer doing final artistic "tweaking", or @IS return fully translated pages, ready to load onto the site.
For dynamic sites, the localization process is coordinated with the developer to streamline transfer of Spanish text into the database. Working together to assure quick, easy localization and avoid hair-raising events.
For busy developers, @IS also localizes artwork such as PhotoShop, Illustrator and Flash.
Technical reviewers
@IS provides technical reviewers from all facets of the spectrum: computer and software developers; IVR working engineers and programmers; plus mechanical, electrical, medical doctors, and other specialists.
The unexpected
Working with Spanish is not without its pitfalls. Many developers have been horrified to see accented letters disappear or become squiggles because the graphic fonts chosen for artwork are not Spanish compatible. Or symbols such as "trademark" or "registered" become squares or underlines because the text font does not recognize the Spanish character set code. Spanish has different rules concerning capitalization, that changes artwork text and title look and feel, plus different rules on punctuation and hyphenation.
